After a year together, I couldn't be happier. It was not the white hot "love" of our youth, but a much more deeper, mature love of affection and respect. Still I felt an obligation, and asked Kathy about making it "legal".

"Mark." Kathy said, holding my head with both hands. "You are a great guy, and I want to spend the rest of our days together. But I promised myself I would only get married once in my life. I hope you can understand."

Truth be told, I really could not. But I remembered another thing my Father drilled into me. "If it ain't Broke, don't fix it!"

Most bits of fiction have some hint of fact. In 44 of the America states, men can be required to pay support for children not theirs. Only two states allow restitution from biological father to non-biological father on a "limited" scale if fraud is involved. Statistics in this tale came from the Marriage Project, and the General Social Survey (GSS) by the University of Chicago and The Fidelity Study by the University of Indiana. Ownership of underwater homes and the repo of furnishings from local branches of some this country's largest banks has happened a few times, as homeowners have exploited the slow moving massive bureaucracy of the banks to their advantage.

I enjoyed the story, but did not find the premise believable. Thought the whole father influence a nice try to make story believable. Maybe if he staying in the marriage for 6 months or a year like his step brother I could have bought it.

This should be required reading for all bipeds with an XY-chromosome set. Period.

P.S. if you hate this story because MC didn't run off, git drawnk, puke, cry and throw a beta-boi hissy, then you are the kind of man who should not have children. Yeah, this article was right: once you have kids, it's not about you any longer.

The MC drives a Prius hybrid, yeah that screams simp.

And to the cowardly anonymous, Ic69hunter, kiwihunter (which wouldn't surprise me if they were the same person) we already know you're pathetic excuses of manhood. To which I'm sure any relatives of yours with any self respect are embarrassed to be associated with you. I can only surmise you sissies take estrogen with your cream pies.

But I digress, the MC was far too wimpy. Kathy will cheat on him as well.

Meh. Sorry. But hubby came off as an immature prick. Yes she probably suspected that the kid might not be his based on timing but that isn't always accurate anyways. Not saying he does have a right to be pissed off or even divorce, but the way he just coldly switched off and divorced her should lack of character. Was a one time sleep-deprived, drunken fling (ok the older kid being nearby as a baby was bad). Yes she got impregnated and did not come forward and confess. If she had and kid was not his, she knee her husband well enough he woukd instantly ditch her and they would have a broken home. Heck he did that 20 years later after a good rest of his marriage and her being loving and faithful. This decision by him is akin to amputating his own foot because he is so enraged. At least try to talk about and go to counseling. He is the father not Josh thendrunken sperm donor. Guess I have different perspective being a father and having two now adult kids (and yes my biological kids) and happily married for 31 years. Of course she should have just gotten a plan B prescription. And how come she had no birth control? Were she and her husband trying for #2 at that time? If no condom, then she was really hammered. Otherwise this was just a contrived plot stunt to.move thr story to erroneous paternity. Was 20 years, not 5. And the "lie every day" argument is a noble fallacy. Once the lie was in place, she could not back out of it for thr very same reasons how her husband reacted. Same reason she didn't confess. Jsut don't understand thr lack of birth control (was that made clear?) and why not get a plan B prescription? Feel sorry for the wife. She made a.mistake with terrible consequences that she suspected and got caught in her lie of omission. Ended up planting a bomb that detonated 20 years later despite all the love and happiness in between and her endeavoring to atone and make it right as best she could. But none of that is discussed. Bam Alice, to the moon! Mark belongs in a 50s sitcom.

ic69hunter wants men to suck the creampies from the cheating wives. He/she thinks women should be rewarded for their infidelity and has the gumption to suggest that men who leave the slut and little wimps. You are fucking delusional.
