Since Michael had seemed ready to do it but had not, she was worried. She remembered the email and Bob's comments. Had Michael remembered also? Is that why he had been so rough when they actually joined?I'll worry about that later. She pressed tighter to him.

The weekend had been so good that Julie wanted a repeat. After her walk on Tuesday night she got ready for bed. She showered and shaved her legs. She put on perfume and a nice nightgown, although not her fuck-me one. She found Michael in front of the TV.

"Why don't you go take a shower?" The kiss before her request had gotten his attention. He wasted no time in heading upstairs.

The lovemaking was slow and tender this time. After lots of kissing and caressing, he bent to take her nipples by turn in his mouth. The thrills stoked her fires, but that was as far as his mouth wandered. He did finger her, sliding slowly between her nether lips and lightly over her clit. She had an orgasm while he was on top of her. Afterwards they cuddled and kissed for awhile before dropping off to sleep.

While she was driving to work the next day, she pondered the previous night. The tenderness that he showed reassured her about their progress. However, the absence of oral stimulation showed that he hadn't forgotten or completely forgiven yet.

******

The next week Michael had to travel to headquarters for the whole week, so they canceled the appointment with Dr. Cooper. The following week Julie had a bad summer cold so they canceled that week as well. They never got around to making another appointment.

However, Julie managed to keep going to Dr. Jacobsen. Not that the questions that the gentle psychiatrist asked were comfortable.

"Why do you think you got mad at Michael for complaining about his duties while you were in Atlanta?"

"Why did you believe he was having an affair just because other women flirted with him?"

"So the first time back here after Atlanta, you suggested to Bob that you go to his apartment. Why do you think you did that?"

Julie struggled during those hours in the therapist's office to look inside and figure out what was going on. The answers didn't make Julie feel good about herself.

Wonder of wonders she got a call from a headhunter in August. The potential job seemed both below her capabilities and outside her experience, but she ended up pulling out the resume she had first circulated. She was embarrassed to realize that the resume was not really intended to find another job. It was just an excuse to get Michael's request out of her inbox. That night she reworked her resume. The next day she pulled up the ads on the internet from last week's papers and submitted for some open positions.

"Michael, you've done a good job for us this year." Jack was beginning Michael's annual review. The company had finished it's fiscal year on June 30 and now, finally in early August, the books were closed and earnings calculated. Now the bonuses could be distributed.

"Your department was outstanding technically. The innovations you came up with, particularly on the redesigned 423 line, made the introductions very easy."

"Jack, I'm sure you remember that those were Rob's ideas."

"I remember, but we measure you on how well your department does. Not whether you do it personally. One area I am concerned about is your ability to draw on resources outside your department. When you initially had problems with the 423 line, you clammed up. I eventually realized you needed more help. After I gave you Jim temporarily is when the technical solutions began to pop out. If you had said something sooner, you might have avoided a lot of those extra hours."

"You've got to look at the big picture," Jack continued. "Asking for help or sharing your problems doesn't make you a failure."

"You're right and I'll try to keep you better informed this year."

"Well, I don't want to be too harsh. You had a great year. You've earned your bonus and a Special Bonus on top. Congratulations."

As Michael walked back to his office, he thought about the last year. It suddenly hit him. Not only his work, but also his home life suffered from lack of communication.

Liked the story but it seems to be a merry-go-round. Round & round it goes. Where it stops, nobody knows. LP

Not like this

It just feels like her affair is being glossed over. His actions, even though stupid, was a reaction to what she did. Why does the wife keep thinking that its ok because she thought he was having an affair and him lettint her get away with it by not confronting her when she states this. Both unlikeable characters and hope the husband grows a brain and dumps the slut.

Sorry, your writing is very immature 2*

You have the potential in your stories but it is spoiled by the juvenile quality of your writing and the stupidity of your characters.

Perversion at its worst.

Obviously being gutless wimp is a norm for this "writer" !

Although both parties cheated

they are working on a solution. There are too many people who think that the old phrase "Once a Cheater, Always a Cheater" is always correct. This is not always true if both partners work at communication.

WTF

Doesn't anybody read a story anymore for the sake of entertaining themselves. What's with the critical analysis?

He is, she is, he should have, she should have. Who cares. Read the story for what it is, not what it should have been. Why is everybody trying to re-write this authors story? If you don't like it, don't read it. Get a life.

although I don't go along with Julie's cheating.

The story is well written, and even though I don't agree with the wife's reason for cheating,It still a good story. Julie doesn't have any respect for Michael, and that is why she was so quick to spread her legs for Bob. Sure he is a predator, but she was so very easy to seduce,It makes one to think who seduced who. The main flaw in her reasoning is that she thought it was OK to cheat if she was away from home, as she did when she was in Atlanta. When she came back home, the need for the thrill of cheating, plus getting revenge on Michael, for having an affair. Which she didn't have any proof that he did, gave her an excuse to spread her legs again. Since she hasn't apologized for cheating, she isn't sorry for cheating, just getting caught.

His mistake is her Pass Go Free Card.

Yes! Good writer. Period. But would this be same story if jg47 had not added the plot twist of his cheating after seeing her cheat. Reconciliation becomes much easier now. Write the same story without giving her this out and would they in fact reconcile. His description of how far they have floated apart makes that seem unlikely as well as her lack of real understanding of what she had done. And then of course she was depressed. And he was not? From the sound of his responsibility at work, he had as much reason to feel depressed - if not more - than she did. Your timeline also should put the onus on her to show why they should reconcile: she has already cheated at least twice before he does. She does not seem to be trying to understand his feelings, but seems only focused on her own and finding to excuses for what she did: he did it, that earns me forgiveness. So the lynch pin of reconciliation here in this story is not working beyond just her mistake but his slip into adultery also. Certainly makes it easier to say what she did was not as bad - except in this case, I think it still is worse, but so far she has not been willing to admitt it to him, only to the psychiatrist. Still in denial and can there be a reconciliation while she still sails on that river.

Slowly Digging Out of the Pit

I was pretty disgusted with the characters in this story with Ch. 04 (and, for that matter, the story itself), however, it seems that the two main parties are starting to make an effort... sort of. The therapy seems quite realistic, especially the comment about exercising for Julie. I'm sure that in Ch. 06 we'll get to see one or both of them tested. Will be interesting to see how that works out.

oral sex!!

She's upset that he no longer goes down on her. Well purhaps she should look at the statement that he always brought her to orgasm eating her pussy, even though she rarely recipercated. I may have read the wrong story here, but she gave Bob head for his muffdiving troubles, why can't she try to give her husband the same consideration?

What about Bob?

Are to think that a sexual predator like him is going to take it lying down. He has already scored with julie and his type of creep can't let his groundwork go to waste...I still say that micheal has to kick his ass good. Now that's comminucation

So typical of the "reconciliation at any costs" ..

plot lines. As many have stated - she is/will be a chronic cheater who does not feel like she did anything wrong, has no empathy for the spouse because she does not respect him. The good outcome is if he gets rid of the slut and finds a decent wife who understands the concept of fidelity. The kids who be a lot better off if she is out of the picture. That way she can keep her job - maintain her slut status and eventually die lonely but well fucked. As usual, Harry's analysis 99% correct in all the stories he comments on - way to go, Harry!
