"Everything we need is right here," she said taking me in her arms. "Just you and me and our toothbrushes. Richard, baby I love you so much. I want to make a fresh start as far from Chicago and Jason as possible."
"You want to go now?" I asked.
"Yes!" she said. "Right now! And on this plane. To Honolulu and that new job you've been offered." She kissed me. "To Honolulu. And to a fresh, pure start together."
We rolled our bags to the counter and bought two tickets.
