Cast yourself on the water
Watch the waves swirling by
Crystal blue sparkling droplets
Reminisce a tear within her eye

Trembling on the edge of goodbye
So-soft lips part to release a sigh
From the one on the shore watching the world go by
Anxious to live; but so afraid to try

Paint yourself a picture
A tale told for the sight
But she'll never live within the frame
As different as wrong from right

Silent screams, dawning dreams
Soul locked on this track
The train is bearing down
And there's no looking back

Place yourself in her shoes
Look through those eyes so blue
At a world given to nothing but pain
Constant, aching, writhing, true.

Trembling on the edge of goodbye...

...is a wonderful line! On my second and third read, I found myself ignoring the last verse, and it seemed a stronger end.
