seems like an easy quest.
Finding them well hidden
deep within a mess.
Covered with unspoken,
dreams, hopes, and schemes.
Looking under blankets,
pillows, and fantasies.
Trying to disturb them,
bring them to the front.
Never knowing if you've got them
never wanting to confront.
Holding out for more,
wanting nothing less.
Trying to just get by
on your very best.
Realizing it's not good enough,
that he just wants something more,
Looking for the answers
behind the well locked door.
Staying and conversing,
like whispered words not said.
Neither one will move,
or clear the other's head.
Working toward the future,
paths tangled in the night.
Wanting just to find them,
and make it all seem right.
Stirring up the cobwebs,
crossing out the lies.
If they would just go answer
neither one would cry.
But fear of love's rejection,
causes them to wait.
And so they go on living
a star-crossed lovers' fate.
Thank you HH with your help on the last line
Have you been cleaning out closets
or what ?????
I loved this, with your never miss
a beat rhyming sense and the whole
idea of your 'starcrossed fate' point.
***** for you.
