Winter arrived.
The lake froze over as his heart did the same.
The ice broke off, and drifted away,
Leaving her stranded on the mainland.

A jagged edge where he used to be.

Spring crept in, but she stayed alone
The edge sharpening in the depths of the lonely night
As the weather slowly warmed, but still chilly enough
For her bitter soul.

Then summer exploded into life, and The Sun came out.
At first she was wary of its bright rays – would they burn her?
But slowly, she let her guard down,
And The Sun’s heat gently smoothed over the jagged edge.
She sparkled underneath him with a light to rival his own.

Winter came around again, and fear struck her.
But his love was too warm for the freezing winds.

That winter, the sun shone.
