In this new calendar, let me thin
The thick blood of self-love, turn
Instead to humble craft—to tat and lace
My words, make useful things. It is no sin
To sew a cloak that warms and wraps concern,
Or offers solace such as can erase

The pain that often "honest" comments feed:
That Voice of Doubt, which speaks to us in stern
And plodding phrases. Crap. Dreadful. Disgrace.
In now New Year, I'll sow a different seed.
                       Embrace.
