Click hereDawn's early light breaks through the mist,
As the sun begins to rise.
Fog once shrouds the lake and trees,
And soon we see blue skies.
In the distance we hear the call,
Upon the mountain peaks.
The throaty howl within the trees,
Her mate is what she seeks.
Through fading mist our lioness stalks,
Majestic, strong and proud.
Throughout the day and evening too,
Her call is heard aloud.
Searching ever searching now,
Toward evening’s last beaming light.
Up above the forest crown,
Her quest is found in flight.
A solitary dragon soars,
His black mantle clear to see.
Slowly circling towards the ground,
Now perched upon on a fallen tree.
His shrill call pierces the air,
Dusk is closing in so fast.
Our Lioness has made her way to him,
Beside her mate at last.
Alone at last the night they share,
One guards, as the other must sleep.
The shroud of mist begins to rise,
Through the canyon below so deep.
The sun slips slowly beyond the ridge,
Our lovers nestle quietly still.
Sharing warmth from each other now,
Against the cool night’s chill.
Cursed these lovers roam by day,
And huddle in the night.
Share what little time they can,
Until the morning light.
Dusk and dawn they rise anew,
And greet each other fast.
The dawn’s new mist now gently parts,
And for a moment they embrace at last.
One sweet day the spell shall break,
And life will again spring new.
Until that day their love remains,
Unbroken, strong and true.
