of what shall we choose
to become

of us
our gaze
once captured
cross a crowded room
in flame our passion awaited promise
long years from our hearts and minds were soothed

to lie here now eyes closed in feeling
moistness on my cheek in trace

is it warmth of your lips breath butterfly light
cold kiss weighted stone wept tears of night
yet fallen
remembrance
faint echoes in chase of glorious days
sweet laughter's flight

escaped

one ghosting thought remains
what of us
