Jaycee's fears are understandable. She is pushing everyone away to protect herself and her daughter. But either individuals in a relationship can hurt the other regardless of how horrible or nice their life has been. Her pushing Rex away can be received as hurt but he doesn't feel that way. He is patient and will wait until forever for her to trust him.
