Well written!

I love the detail and how well you articulate it. The poem really strikes a good balance for me between fond memory and regret. There's a gentleness to it--it feels like a good example of the word "bittersweet."

of handling a sad tale. You made this story into a poem that's interesting enough for a reader. Many tragedies that end up poetry aren't very interesting for anyone but the writer.
