there is no law in any state that a cop has to tell you he or she is a cop if you ask. I also doubt there is a cash minimum for it to be solicitation.

is absolutely right. I used to work undercover for a local police agency, as well as ATF, and the "badged" cops and the CI's never had to say a thing. I did get a kick out of watching a young recruit smoke weed once, he had to do it to wrap up a deal, itwas so funny..he is a border patrol now, in texas I think :) nice story

You all may be right. It reminds me of the guy who didn't think it was realistic that Luke Skywaker got to be a fighter pilot so fast---but all of the rest of Star Wars was realistic?

Seriously, I swear there was a county law where I lived in Florida many year ago---after several local politicos had been nabbed---requiring undercover officers to ID themselves if correctly asked.

The $20 was pure fiction--I made it up.
