But she does have a feathered thumb and two fingers on what is actually the wrist of her wing. They're harder to see because the digits lay flat instead of protrude from the wing.
I updated the volume 1 ebook just yesterday with a rework on all episodes and included this with a description that blends into the flow of the story.

She's not based on a specific bird. I did her design looking for a graceful figure and curves since dancing is her thing.
None of the girls are based on a specific brand of species anyway. :-p I just pick what suits the character.
As for human-bird sex, the main difference is that with the birds having a cloaca, penetration is a whole new experience for them, especially because there's still a vaginal and anal side to it.
It's something I explored in the science fiction story Alien Affairs between a male human and a small dragon-like species female (including what they do with unfertilised eggs).

Couple of questions: 1. I know what Guy's girlfriends are based on certain animals, cat, dog, bird, spider, and mouse, but what kind of bird is Avia based on?
2. If you did a sex scene involving a human male and a female birdgirl, how is that going to work? Your opinion on sex...
