Click heresimilar to my earlier post, Belaying Pin. This one explores some other fun ideas. At the time "LOST" was quite popular, so the main pirate protagonist is Sawyer. In LOST there was a station called "The Pearl",that is the DARMA symbol tattoo on his shoulder. There was a slave ship on the island called the "Black Rock", ergo the name of this ship, a combo. The stowaway woman, is a woman I worked with, who fancied the character, Sawyer. The dead scribe is me. There are a few other details to discover.
This is a pencil drawing, largely from imagination, but with some photo reference of Josh Holloway (Sawyer). After scanning into photoshop, I started adding sky and sea. Never did get around to finishing.

29wordsforsnowabout 3 years agoGood capture of Sawyer, not only by the pencil work...looking on the expression on her face - trying to remain neutral until the right moment? - and what her hand will surely make use of in the next moments, it's maybe a pirate who's going to be stowed away, for later-at-the-evening use? ;)
It might be 'unfinished', but I really like the contrast between drawing and the colored, detailed background.
