First there was a fantasy told about ink on skin, the power of a dragon. Then there was the beauty of delicate wings, the filigree of a butterfly. Later on, footsteps, I wished to follow...please, pause for a moment and have a look at "The Pink Scarf" and the accompanied story series "Rope and Veil" by eletricblue66, too.

I would like to send out my love and deep gratitude to all to those who prop up the fallen, who kiss away the pain, who soothe the scars, who feed the hungry, and who don't avert their eyes from marks of wounds, but look beyond, onto the person.

Well...the butterdragon's eyes are multifaceted (gems)...so technically speaking... ;)

But actually it was meant to be more figurately as in 'not hiding from eyes (anymore)'. I do believe that 'beauty' is more than just aesthetic aspects, so, how do they say, "Confidence is sexy!"

Thanks for the comment!

I really enjoyed this, both the exposition and the progression of the image. My one comment probably deriving from my biological training is that when I read, "All eyes," I was expecting multifaceted compound eyes.

Yes, you're right, RaindropStar, it's the torso of one woman, of one wholly self-confident woman.

As you might have guessed the picture is about not being physically whole anymore. Here as a consequence of a mastectomy - amputation of a breast which for example is carried out to treat breast cancer - which might affect any gender. The change in appearance can drastically affect the psychological well-being of the patient too, so both, body and mind, can require a therapy. One part can be a therapeutic tattoo that reinforces one's confidence, like the hybrid of the butterfly-dragon here, a beast of beauty, a fragile power.

This work includes some symbolism as well, like the kiss mouth at the end of one antenna - a symbol of love, love for one's own body, connected to the tattoo. While the inverted colours of the two-part picture where a purely arty thing at first, with discovering electricblue66's work 'The Pink Scarf' and adding the therapeutic aspect, the different colour palettes, from my point of view, now also reflect the variety in what we call 'beauty' - it lies in the eye of the beholder... The hands are a two-sided symbol. On the one hand - please forgive me this ambiguous use of words - they are a guard, protecting the body from those watching with an evil eye. On the other hand, they again stand for self-love. How would you enjoy someone else's touch if you didn't want to touch yourself?

Speaking of touching, a loving, caring partner can be one part of the therapy as well. There is so much body to discover and enjoy! Palms of hands and soles of feet have the highest density of mechanic sensors - pleasure them! And if they are too ticklish, spent some time in the nape of the neck, crook of the arm or the hollow of the knee, armpits - there's a lot of soft, sensitive skin. Chin, nose, earlobes and ear cups include a lot of warm/cold sensor show'em how hot or cool you are.

And of course family and friends that understand, respect and support help as well.

Take care of yourself, your loved ones and significant others, relatives and friends.

Thanks for reading through all this.

Oh! That is gnarly! I dig it. At first I thought it was a man and a woman facing each other, but the more I looked at it, I saw the woman's torso, and the dragon. Very nice.
