Nude expressive dancers

The audition panel explained an important detail about the experimental dance program at DSU: the performances were done on a completely empty stage and usually in the nude. Penelope already knew that, having attended several stage performances with her roommates the previous year.

Vicky had not known the dance performances were in the nude, but she was thrilled to find that out. In just a few months she had come a long way from the shy Mid-Western girl who was reluctant to skinny dip with her cousin. She had been modeling in the nude since leaving Floodplain, lived in a household where nudity was the rule, and was used to walking around campus topless as a political and freedom-of-expression statement.

When the two applicants came back for their second audition session and actually started dancing, the director became more optimistic they might work out after-all. For their first time doing modern experimental dancing, and in spite of having totally separate backgrounds, they did quite well.
