You don't know this yet, but
You are a man of distinction.
How you bat your eyes and
Sharpen your horns, they are
Among my favorite distractions.

So coy, you vacillate
Between blemishes and beauty;
You pick and squeeze but I
Wonder what you really
Expect to find besides the pus.

This age is uninspired,
And disappointment showers on
Persistence. We welcome
The challenge, but now question
What moves us: wonder or pride?

No other common thread
Is required. Lay my head on
Your lap and caress the crevices
Lining my mind, setting
Free what is young and haunting.
