The beach was deserted and sunny and hot
Just me, some sea gulls, a crab, and my thought.
And I’m not denying,
A strong fear of dying,
And just the few clothes that I’d brought.
I doffed all the clothing, then swam in the sea.
Just those beach creatures, the ocean, and me.
Despite fearing dying
It was quite unifying,
And being naked made me most totally free,
And a real part of a universal alliance,
Putting me in an eternal compliance.
At once I was part
From the actual start,
Merging all life, my existence, and science.
It was like living a really fine dream,
And being part of a vital living team.
Being part of the day,
And the earth’s DNA,
Elevated my emotional and agitated esteem.
I felt suddenly and wholly full of cheer.
Full of life and of all I hold dear.
Being naked made me
Part of all I could see,
And helped ease my demons of fear.
It was clearly one important day.
An enlightenment many scholars would say.
It helped me see
We’re a family of ‘we,’
And they’re all naked which took fear out of play.
