Upon a ship sailing to nowhere
a crew of pirates are at sea...
heading south to heavenly waters
that go on for eternity...
the skies so clear are helpful as tides
and right before their eyes.

The clearest days and star-filled
nights they help to guide their way...
the birds of prey that soar the skies
are up above them there everyday...
no storms are ahead to hold them
back and time is still intact.

The young but scruffy, grizzled crew
they all know what they have to do to
make their way into the great unknown.
And they won't moan, utter a groan.
They'll find a home and find it soon out
there...on a ship to nowhere, on a ship
to nowhere.

Many stories have been told about
their flags of the skull and bones...
their misdeeds and golden fortunes
have been made, no one condones...
the battles they've fought bravely or not.

The harsh and the unruly crew
have tempted fate too much it's true...
and their blades have tasted blood in
their lives'...under dark skies.
Soon all of their lies will find them there
somewhere on a ship nowhere, on a ship
to nowhere.

Quite soon everybody will know
they will flow down into the ocean bed.
They will drown into the bottomless sea
and they will be soon without a care...
and out of their ship to nowhere.
Out of their ship to nowhere...
out of their ship to nowhere.

First off, I’m a frustrated sailor! I know just enough to be dangerous but have done a little sailing. I love love love tales (and poems) of the sea and the men who sailed upon her, even if they be pirates! This is a wonderful work Satyr61! I can taste the salt spray!
