Your glossy-lipped lover strikes the perfect note.
It travels to your brain
Awakening something for the first time.
The sky closes its doors for the day.
She passes her tongue over her shining lips
That are as full and radiant
As the cotton candy spectacle above you.

After her rose bath
You watch her
Rub the sticky pink gelatinous cream
Into her skin.
The circles and gentle collision
Remind you
Of a cone of strawberry vanilla ice cream,
The kind with terraced swirls.

Her perfume shocks you
And then chooses to linger,
Dispersing itself.
Some rosebud fairies attain their freedom.

She’s aware of you watching her now,
Sinking into that cherry
With the uncanny shape.
You picture its sweet gushing explosion,
Its tangy skin folding into itself
Like a Rose preparing for the night.
