Silver streaks of sky
& clouds.
Window beside
me, so I shut down
memories awfully loud.
Kid kicks & cries
so now
more tantalizing time
to re-evaluate my life.

A pastor's face
on the book I hold.
He grins, so I chase
all that he claims to know.
Words hit me & thoughts flow.
Does he have an enemy who hates
like I do? Who acts as if in a show
on Broadway
or like she owns my fate?

Friends falter but move
on. I sigh & hope
I'll make it soon.
Some adults I see overthrow
what is good.
Must I fit in or be misunderstood?
What if I love hard then lose
& become a shadow or cruel?
I must love my life-I must; I should.
