The pain is such that I would think
that I could easily die of it
and often I would wish it so, when
icicles cascading through my brain
bring forth incoherent screams,
and beg on bended knee (if I but could)
for medication. To numb the wounds
which takes from me intelligence,
that I will now readily cast assunder
in exchange for peace.
.
Yet still one tear escapes,
remembering what was mine;
when once my mind was everything.
