Black cat under a ladder
black thread on your white bed
step on a crack, step on a line.

A shoe upon your bed
any number that's uneven
elephant idols not facing east.

A black cat crossing your path
the number 13 and the fear of death
walking under a ladder.

Taking without giving
being a criminal in this life when
you only come back as a snake.

A painting that never burns
a vampire that won't die
idols of mystery that remain.

Breaking a mirror, taking a fancy
stone from sacred ground...
are all signs of some serious
bad luck to all.
