“I love humanity,
I used to hate them,
then I realized that they’re prideful,
extremely rebellious,
and full of themselves,
just like me,” said the Light Bringer.

Michael, Leader of the Armies of the Lord,
Commander of Heaven’s Forces,
The Archangel Par Excellence,
Stood before his wayward brother.

Today, seated on a park bench,
The Light Bringer wore his mortal guise,
That of a tall, well-dressed, thirty-something,
Handsome and distinguished African American man.

“You don’t belong here, Lucifer, return to the Pit at once,
says Michael, and he draws his sword for effect,
The Light Bringer looks back at him,
And laughs quite melodiously.

“Hell is boring, brother, I prefer earth,
says the Light Bringer,
And he considers his older brother,
Tall, fair-skinned, blue-eyed, Nordic-looking and quite imposing,
The Doer of Heaven’s Dirty Work.

“Michael, have you ever made love to a woman ?
Have you ever made love to a man ?
Have you eaten wondrous foods ?
Swam in the ocean’s waters ?”

The Light Bringer laughs,
And gazes at his stern-faced older brother,
The Champion of Heaven,
The Destroyer of Evil.

The Rebel Angel once waged war,
Against All of Heaven’s Might,
Out of Hatred for Mankind,
Only to discover the infinite wisdom of Man,
Through Trial And Error,
What No Immortal Can Know.

“Depart at once,” Michael bellows,
And Upon Hearing This Scream,
Lucifer laughs some more,
Vanishing in a cloud of smoke.

Shaking his head in disgust,
Michael the warrior sheaths his blade,
Unfurls his mighty wings,
Ascends to heaven,
Unseen by the mortal gaze.

Elsewhere the Light Bringer materializes,
In a shopping center,
In the heart of Philadelphia,
Just a face in the crowd.

The Light Bringer watches them,
The men and the women,
The gentlemen who love gentlemen,
The ladies who love ladies,
And those who love both sexes.

Love makes the universe go around,
This is such a pity,
That Only the Lord of Hell,
Understands the Hearts of Men,
For he dwells among them,
Until the world ends.
