Now's the time for me to go
And sink into the sand,
Ooze into a different world
Beyond the reach of man.

There I'll stay just me alone
And all the world above,
Will never hurt my heart again
Or tell me how to love.

And I will think of all the scars
That men did give to me,
And contemplate the storm inside
Which I could not perceive.

A tangled mess a mind becomes
When all your ropes are ends,
And not a one can lead you out
Or show where you began.

They set me here with blocks in hand
To put them all in place,
And every bumpkin at my side
Is in a blasted race.

And what a farce, identity
Here with these paper dolls,
Stamped each one from cardboard stock
And I the same as all.

Here in this gloried, templed space
I fold my palms and pray,
Waiting for the end of life
Or of the working day.

Very sweet. First time I've seen the word BUMPKIN in a poem. I love this.
