I was reading in bed
nursing paper cuts from dog-eared edges
when I realized
I hadn't drank water all day.
I sustained myself with coffee
which is made from what I was lacking
but affects me differently
which got me thinking...
I am made from the very particles that
The Big Bang started off with
but our galaxy doesn't bleed
doesn't breathe
doesn't try to make sense of all these things
that I spend my days overthinking about.
It just is
and so
I'll be damned
if I just am
exactly what the stardust accidentally became
at the very beginning.
