A spark ignites
Placed lovingly on a candle
Delicately she sways
Stretching for the pureness in the air
So little, so light
Yet shimmers and glows

She offers warmth to all in need
But don't let her kindness fool you
She will bite those deserving
Sadly, containing her is all too easy
While she could be a blaze
Her emotions only reach behind her face

Completely unaware of how brightly she can burn
Words can both nurture and smother her
Passions kept hidden and caged inside
Displaying, at best, certain colors to the world
If only she knew her own self-worth
For she radiated far more than she even realized

So brilliant the way she flickers like a dance
Giving life to those with her smiles and laughter
And yet is blind of the warmth she leaves behind
Still believing she is little and light
Unaware of the hearts she has kindled
By a sparkle she thinks barely blinks

When she finally understands that she is more than a flame
She will take your breath away
Her confidence scintillate as she shakes off the ashes
Reaching with roaring intensity into the open air
But she will not scorch the earth with her desire
Just simply embrace life with devotion and love

Her spark purely placed on a candle
Thought it easily contained, unable to express
And sometimes it will be because life is unfair
But she will make sure to sing and shine
For she is much mightier than she believes
Her soul already a blaze an inch off of her skin

I love the metaphorical use of light here... burning brightness... the energy of goodness emulating from humility. You use nice imagery. Inspirational piece.
