I awoke feeling anew,
Like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon,
Slowly unfurling my newly formed wings!

The softness of my newly formed body,
Limbs and torso hairless and smooth,
Caressing myself,
Exploring every inch of Danielle,
Feeling giddy,
A euphoria I have never known!

I greeted myself in the mirror,
A warm smile on my face,
Cheekbones rosy,
Lips supple and full,
Brown hair cascading past my shoulders,
So full and bouncy as I shook my head.

A soft giggle escaped my mouth,
My newfound voice,
So gentle and soothing to my ears.

Today is mine,
To explore life as the woman I was meant to be,
Danielle Marie,
A butterfly free!
