I sit alone
Tucked away in the dark
Waiting for visions
And a new journey to embark

The chords of sadness
Jarring my memory
Tears stream
In a downward trajectory

Belongingness once felt
Somehow long forgotten
The dichotomy
Of all misbegotten

The notes ring out
A lasting mantra in my head
The thoughts pour out
In hopes of being read

To all those gone
Lost to the hands of time
I bury your memory
In the catacombs of my mind

To all those I miss
Even though you're still here
My heart feels heavy
My forgiveness remains sheer

I drift off
Further in isolation
Away from everyone
The darkest Desolation

Nothing but a sad song
Plays on perpetual repeat
Pointing to shortcomings
Accepting chronic defeat
