Click hereA cresting on the hill he came
On steed of burnished snow
A maiden in distress he spied
And dragon bearing low!
Her gorgeous sash a tied his lance,
His armour gleaming white.
The lowered weapon of his love
Her battles for to fight.
He urged his steed to cantering
Over the open field.
Under his heart, his breath, his might
The fellest beast would yield.
A charging at full speed they came,
The horse and rider one.
The plume on his great helm a flail
There in the noonday sun.
His lance held low and gleaming bright
The final distance closed
The tip held sure on weakest point
Its heart is what he chose.
The weapon hit, he drove it home
Into his armoured foe
A gush of blood, a scream of pain
The monster flailing so
Releasing now his trusty lance
Its grizzly purpose served
Then, wheeling o’re the fields he came,
His maiden he observed
Her knight in shining armour here
Equipped to save the day.
To stay with her forevermore,
Her dragon he did slay.
