Love with a certain stranger
on a park bench in the dark
on a late Wednesday evening
walking in the park,
Known each other years, it seems
intimate, twice
but still each a stranger
never paid the price,

The party got too noisy
so I said, shall we go
walk down to the park
as a breeze began to blow,
Side by side, at first
then hand in hand felt good
should we be each other’s lover
we both thought we would,

Stopped at the bench
that looked across the lake
with the breeze blowing softly
each had a kiss to take,
Take from the other
and give one in return
and desire for something more
slowly began to burn,

The night was fairly warm
wore clothing loose and free
easy to rearrange
easy for us to be,
The stranger that we longed to be
a face in the crowd
just past what is permitted
what is allowed,

Went back to the party
which was slowly winding down
in search of something lost
in search of something found,
Where should we go from here
no good options did exist
but sex on a city park bench
checked off our bucket list,
