The waves come crashing in,
soft, though, with a sense of rhythm
that slowly reverberates throughout
my entire body and leaves me
with an echo of water on rocks,
of sand being drawn back from
underfoot and a memory of salt
in the air and upon my sun baked lips,
not unlike the taste of her last kisses.
