The summer night was warm
as a lady made her way...
along a crooked avenue she
knew only too well.
The sky began to fall and a
gentle rain came down.
The crescent moon shoned
brightly in her blue eyes.

She soon came to her favorite
cafe and she went in.
Ordered a small hot tea and sat
at a corner table.
Without a word she read a book
she had in her bag.
She soon finished her tea and
then she left the cafe.

She walked a couple of blocks
'til she got to her apartment.
Unlocked the building door,
went in and up to her loft.
Once inside she took off her
damp coat and hung it up to dry.
Made herself one more cup of
tea and rested on her cushy chair.

Finally she was content and tired
and got ready for bed.
With a great big sigh she yawned
as she slipped into her sheets.
She looked out the window on
the wall across from her bed.
Her droopy eyes soon were closed
and she fell fast asleep.
