Within your currents I have been swept
On the trembling tips of my nerves
To places of horror where silence is kept
And sanity seems absurd:

—Where the bleeding heart drains itself;
—Where words of poem shatter into prose;
—Where tears go when they fall;
—Where children sit in the corners of their youth.

It's like a quicksand of the Soul,
Soft, silent, serene,
With love and remembrance paying the toll.
A place that few have seen.

My heart has drained and silence screamed
In the corners of my days;
Poems and prose, scattered clean,
Have bounced back on the page!

I have held your gaze and shared my fear
Afloat with the Divine.
Today, I laughed and shed a tear,
(The last one that was mine)

And gently stepped inside myself with you.
