You are sleeping now
as I lie beside you;
enchanted by that form
so different to my own.
You are all curves, my love.
And soft, sweeping lines.

Your eyelids are a pair of crescents;
still half-moons that sleep on
as my waking gaze sweeps down
over the arc of your neck
past the bend of your shoulders
to the bow of your chest.

I see beauty in the swell of your breasts,
and in the gentle circles your nipples.
Beauty in the camber of your belly
and the rondure of your hips;
and in the delicate curves
of your intimacy.

I'm not like you, love.
I am all angles and sharp edges
and I do not have that beauty
that so bewitches.
So complex, so perfect.
Even if you don't see it.

You are waking now
and my gaze sweeps up,
revisiting every beautiful line,
until I reach your face and see
my favourite curve;
the loving smile of your lips.

Enchanting. The natural flow of a loving gaze revealed.
