Dance for Wales.

Euro Competition.

This is a work of fiction. The events described here are imaginary; the settings and characters are fictitious and are not intended to represent specific places or living persons.

This is based on the simple German Folk Dance Siebenschritt.

The dance moves start with a two beat signal on a bass drum. To a repetitive refrain from an oom-pah band the dance moves are:

Standing beside your partner, take seven steps forward and stamp. Take seven steps backwards and stamp. Move sideways with hands on hips and kick with outside leg. Step sideways back to beside partner, swing partner in waltz move, then back to seven steps forwards etc and repeat.

The words are sung on the seven steps forward and back.

Let’s support our football team {Stamp}
The best that Wales has ever seen {Stamp}

Bring them winning glory soon {Stamp}
To show others Wales’ high noon {Stamp}

Our Welsh faith is fierce and strong {Stamp}
We know our team will win ere long {Stamp}

Let there be Welsh goals galore {Stamp}
Though we always will want more {Stamp}

Let’s support our football team {Stamp}
The best that Wales has ever seen {Stamp}

As the couple come back together after the last repeat, they swing each other in a waltz before stramping three times while shouting:

CYMRU AM BYTH!

Fun, but hardly Welsh - every word is pronounceable.
