Submerged in life, opening doors
seeking treasure, too blind to see
the infinite ocean dying on the shore.
Underwater, in over my head
ambition drives the truth to obscure.

Looking in the mirror behind my mask
well pleased with the molded creation
hiding the darkness and deepening cracks,
buried alive in an underground maze
fixed on finding amontillado in a cask.
