I got a package today, hefty, about 13" long,
addressed to Tequila Jones.
One side of the box was damaged,
I knew I shouldn't but I looked inside.
What I found there shocked me, and then excited me.

Of course I had to get these precious items
to their rightful owner.
The address wasn’t hard to find
it was just a few blocks away
Jones on the mailbox.

Several nights running I’d drive by with the damaged box
thinking I’d do it.
She kept odd hours
sometimes the lights wouldn’t turn on till late
different cars in the driveway.

Not too surprising, given what I found in that box
I considered taping it up
Would that be more suspicious?

Finally, one night
in a cold sweat, after circling the block twice
I parked on the street
rehearsed my speech
nonchalant, apologetic, innocent.

When she came to the door
she was somehow exactly what I’d expected.
Curious, confident, flirtatious eyes
Clearly I’d interrupted… something.

“Um, this was delivered, I’m sure by accident--
To my house, I didn’t open it, I thought you’d want these toys, Tequila
Can I call you Tequila?..”

“Mmmm, I’ve been waiting for these, thank you, honey
They were supposed to be here days ago.”
She took the box in her elegant hands.
“Oh” she added “looks like someone’s been peeking”
And she looked me full in the face.

Shame flooded me
“Uh, no, heh heh, no, it was like that when I got it—“
“Do you need to be punished?” she interrupted, with a raised eyebrow
“because I do that.”
My heart raced.
“But you knew that, didn’t you, that’s why you’re here, isn’t it?”

“What? No. I mean, not really, but.. maybe? This is weird.”
“Come in, relax, it’s Ok to want it” she said, not bothering to see if I was following.
She laid the box on the table
I stepped over the threshold and into a new world..
Next to my box was were two others exactly the same.

Fiction makes for friction.

Fun story, are you implying that she sends these boxes to everyone in the neighborhood? I haven't received mine and I want it so bad.
