As I tred a path precarious
A sliver of light in a world of black
I feel your kindness shine towards me
A smile that warms as you look back

I yearn to feel your gentle touch
Your finger tips on mine
The slightest caress of your finger tips
You keep me in your sight

I fought to turn my heart to stone
To protect from this worlds hurt
Only for you to keep it soft
As humanity proves its worst

This terrible path frightens me no more
I wish only to travel along with you
Causing laughter and tears
Murmur with pangs of distress
But I hold out with hope
I thought was never more
