Go forth the light awaits
Fear not the journey not yet complete
The darkness need not be goodnight
Your presence, forever felt
Perhaps not the fingertips, but definitely the heart.

Memories bittersweet reverberate inside me
You still comfort me at night
The closing of your eyes, need not be goodbye
No not the end, a parting adieu
Accept the light, the opening door

I may no longer hold your hand
Look into your eyes
regrets, I have not one
As long as I breathe you remain part of me
My breath is yours, through my eyes you see

Fear not the closing lid
Doors close, doors open
no longer mine alone to hold
New realities await
My energy is yours

I will never be alone again
Always with me, holding me tight

This hit me hard, in part because as I started reading it 5FDP’s “A Brighter Side of Grey” started playing.

We carry you along in our hearts.
