Like a jewel it shone and drew me nearer
The fire in the woods that attracts the lost traveller
Drawing me deeper and deeper and deeper
Seeking to hold me in its fiery embrace

Darkness surrounds me and keeps drawing me on
Taking me deeper into the black of beyond
Time without meaning passes and fades
Forever do I travel through this forest of shades

Until at last did I come upon a place of wonder
A silver stair curving up, with a black stair curving under
Down did I go into the darkness of Hell
Farther did I travel down this black ugly rail

And at last did I come to a place that was barren
No features did it hold cept a black gate of iron
No life was there there, on this desolate plane
No life but myself, with the gate and its pain

And as I stood standing the gates of Hell opened
And LO! Did I see a vision of torment
Demons and Devils before me stood standing
Each holding an orb of white light and heat

Beckon did they as I stood in the archway
Enticing me into the light and the heat
Offer did they their orbs of pure white light
Enticing me into the land of the dead

The touch of the flames seared my body and soul
Heat upon pain with pain upon heat
The first touch so warm and yet so cold
I spread my arms wide and welcomed my death

And still yet I stand in this land of the dead
At one with all Demons and beings of dread
Offering to mortals the heat and the pain
Ant the light of the fire and from life an escape.
