I long to
Sculpt these words
Into an adequate
Declaration of my devotion
But my fingers are clumsy
Words become tangled
And misplaced
Distorting the feelings
That are stored
In my heart
While the floor is littered
With all the eloquent words
That slip from my grasp

Although the words slip from our grasp, our emotions create urgent expressions begging to be shared at the earliest opportunity!

For all that they try, I don't know that words ever feel like they've captured the depth of emotion for those who are writing them. We can only hope they resonate with others who understand those emotions.
