Why do girls dress up so fancy?
Is it to catch someone's eye?
Or to feel confident and spunky,
As they sashay on by?
They style their hair just so-so,
Apply makeup in delicate brushstrokes,
Put on high heels that make them go
Clickety-clack as they work their way to work.
They wear clothes that are tight and revealing,
Showing off every curve and every line,
So that every passer-by cannot help but be feeling
Drawn in by their allure and shine.
Perhaps they dress up for themselves,
To feel empowered and strong,
To show off their unique selves,
And prove the critics wrong.
They show off their beauty and grace,
As they wear their confidence on their sleeve,
Never worried about the looks on others' face,
For they know that it's their own spirit that they believe.
So let girls wear what makes them happy,
And let them shine bright and true,
For it's their own sense of self that they need to be happy,
And not others' opinions that they have to woo.
