Welcome back home to the quiet
Away from the banging riot
But still my little drummer boy
The battle calls to you, its decoy
Yet still you go off and face it

Melodies play forever silent
Still you march on, so reliant
Marching like a wind-up toy
Welcome back home

“Stay home” I cry, “It’s violent”
But still you go, like some giant
Marching on, marching to destroy
The child you were, my drummer boy
Who will say it, when you fall silent?
‘Welcome back home’
