The fire began to fade as
the moon rose high.
The lovers fell asleep as one,
hearts melted together.
A sense of peace and sweet
surrender filled the night.
The full moon lit the way
to the lake, just feet from them.

A slightly crimson sky glowed
on their semi nude bodies.
With grins on their faces they
slept so silently.
The air was slightly cool but
they were warm by the fire.
The dying embers glowed there
in the sweet twilight.

All through the night they slept
until the morning came.
The sun rose once again and it
shone in their now opened eyes.
They kissed sweetly one more time
before starting their day.
Without a word they got up to
wash their sleep away.

As the sun grew more intense,
summer was here for awhile.
The lovers made their way back to
the beach to clean up their spot.
After a fairly quick once over
they killed the dying embers.
With a pail of water the embers
were just smoke in the sky.
