Circles, dots and dashes
aimlessly meandering
on a field of white,
confused, like a mind
overgrown with weeds
of mutinous thoughts.
How does one put the sunrise
on a page, or capture the spatter
of rain on a sheet?
Will the sunset glow more luminous
when set in a rhyme?
Or will it darken and recede
like those circles, dots and dashes,
……masquerading as words?
Beautiful and emotionally fulfilling.....
I can’t imagine the muse ever leaving your shoulder!
It is frustrating, how sometimes the brain forces us to take a creative nap. I love the sunrise/sunset image in this. It’s kind of like a sly comment on the nature of creativity, how it ebbs and flows. Even when you’re blocked, you’re good! Love this.✏️
A little anectode: We started anew in one corner of the garden, when all the misbehaving grass and unnameable were weeds gone, soon some small shrub roses had found a new home. And while some passersby applauded, some neighbors had a different kind of gift. In plastic bags, half-broken pots and bicycle baskets of plants, unknown before in any of the corners, bece part of the flowery family.
I hope there will always someone's shoulder you can have look over, and the muse sitting there breathes a wind of inspiration your way.
As someone who has gone through writer's block a number of times, this captures the essence perfectly. Well done.
