Meet me in the space where you are neither awake or asleep.
Where your dreams are vivid and bright.
The colors shine red and yellow.
Colliding like a supernova.
In dreams you can be red and I can be yellow.
Mingling together, smoky tendrils caressing each other.
Where it is just you and me.
Once we wake, the world loses the brightness.
I become just the place holder for whoever it is you wait for.
The collisions of color become gray.
I’d you listen carefully, you’ll hear the crack.
Not a crack of thunder. Not an explosion of color.
Strain your ears and close your eyes.
It is my heart with the crack down the middle.
Where all the fireworks get stuffed and remembered.
Where the explosions are detonated so no one hears or knows.
No one; but me.
