I fell in love with a whore
On the fifteenth of June.
Walked her down through the park
By the light of the moon.
I held her hand in mine,
And didn’t give a thought
About when they paid her,
Just what they had bought.
I had things in my past
I wasn’t proud of.
So what made it right
Was unconditional love.
She was a person I cared for,
No matter her past.
I was confident that
My affection would last.
She was clever and bright,
And easy to please.
She is lovely to look at,
Which no one disagrees.
I really don’t care
What she used to do.
She is thoughtful and gracious
And even sharp too.
She is cheerful and refined,
And delightfully fair.
About what she once did,
Just why would I care?
She is accepting and honest,
And true to her word.
To simply not like her,
Would just be absurd.
Are there reasons to shun her?
I can think of none.
Should we judge others
By what they have done?
Or should we decide,
I simply ask you,
To judge people
By what they now do?
