You were the bridge.

between who I was, and who I am.

You pulled me into an embrace of answers.

Our moments together euphoric clarity.

Without you, there’s no evidence of my truth. There’s no pleasure to my pain.

You were the bridge.

Which was no destination.

From here to there, then gone.

You were just a bridge.

And I’m lost on the other side now.

I miss the in-between.

beautiful, sad and so very true. A start always means there will be an end, and the most important is what we make of the in-between.
