The warning signs were there before,
But something, somehow kept you here.
This time, I knew it was different,
I could read it in your voice.
When the moment came, the “goodbye” was missing,
Yet I still knew that this time was for good.
I know that even though the life wasn’t real,
That didn’t make the feelings any less so.
We both have been on a tumultuous ride,
For me the highs were worth the lows.
We broke each other's hearts once,
But at least mine was broken for Good.
You said that this wasn’t because of me,
But I know that my actions played a part.
We could never again be the way we were,
And the way we were could never be.
I don’t know if I made your life better or not,
But you have changed me for good.
